Flat Heart

fhtut26

Introduced below is a basic design of balloon weaving. My personal preference is to use 160 metallic or satin texture but it can be made with any elongated balloon. Happy twisting!~ ;)

fhtut01

01. You will need two strips of balloons (I prefer 160), a pump, and a pair of scissors.

fhtut02

02. Inflate one of the balloons about a foot and a half. Be sure to have enough air to form the many bubbles and have enough room at the back for you to work on.

fhtut03

03. One bubble and one pinch twist.

fhtut04

04. One more bubble, one more pinch twist.

fhtut05

05. One more bubble, one more pinch twist.

fhtut06

06. One bubble, tie like so.

fhtut07

07. One bubble, one pinch twist.

fhtut08

08. One more bubble, one more pinch twist.

fhtut09

09. TWO bubbles, one pinch twist.

fhtut10

10. One bubble, one pinch twist.

fhtut11

11. One more bubble, one more pinch twist.

fhtut12

12. One bubble, lock twist like so.

fhtut13

13. One bubble, join with lock twist as shown above. First layer is complete. In order for the shape to stay as itself, we need to add another layer. It is done by twisting bubbles and anchoring them to the pinch twists and lock twists made previously. The bubbles are created in the same sequence as the first layer.

fhtut14

14. Begin the second layer with a bubble. Loop to the adjacent pinch twist.

fhtut16

15. Complete the tile of four bubbles as shown.

fhtut17

16. Layer three bubbles as shown above.

fhtut18

17. Layer the 4 bubbles on the other side to complete the tile.

fhtut19

18. Complete the loop with one bubble and a lock twist. Cut the excess balloon and tie.

fhtut20

19. Inflate the other balloon till about 6 inches.

fhtut21

20. Tie to one of the pinch twists as shown above.

fhtut22

21. One bubble and loop to the adjacent pinch twist.

fhtut23

22. One small bubble and lock twist as shown.

fhtut24

23. One more small bubble, then lock twist.

fhtut25

24. One more, loop to the pinch twist as shown.

fhtut26

25. Complete the ring by looping at every next pinch twist as shown, pay attention to the ratio and proportion of the bubbles you twist, cut and tie. Remember to add a pinch twist at the bottom to create a sharp shape. And your flat heart is done! In order to obtain a balanced shape, try to make all your bubbles (bubbles as all the inner structure bubble excluding pinch twists) same size, and make sure they are round shape  and not long.

Hope you have enjoyed reading this tutorial and found it useful. Thank you and happy twisting!~ ;)
