1st AEON Balloon Festival
Posted by Twisted Balloons in Creations, Events on June 14th, 2010
On 10-14th June, I was given the opportunity to take part in the 1st AEON Balloon Festival as a participant in both the workshop as well as the competition. The event was held at Malacca in the AEON Jusco shopping mall. The open concept of the competition drew a vast number of crowd. The competition was 50% based on the voting of the shoppers on that day, this perhaps added to the sense of involvement of the shoppers in this “festival”.
Below are some of the photos taken, for sharing =)
The 2 large scale fish shown below were done by Mr Stone Chang and his team of balloon artists from Taiwan.
Below are some photos taken at the workshop.
Below are some photos taken with the instructors of the workshop.
Frederick from Singapore and myself made a balloon costume for the costume exhibition based on his design, below are some photos.
Ms Charisa from the Phillipines and myself made a piece for the competition, this is how it looked like.
Hope this entry had been enriching as the workshop had been for me! Will see you guys again soon, happy twisting! =)
Yew Tee YEC BGM
Posted by Twisted Balloons in Events on August 22nd, 2009
Exactly one week after TW YEC BGM, I was running for office in my own YEC, the Yew Tee Youth Executive Committee. For this event, I had this idea of having a simple balloon backdrop and build some giant sculptures for people to take photos with. For that purpose, I made a few big hats and a Link-o-Loon heart. I really appreciate the friends who came down to help, without whom, I would have died making the things alone. At the end of the day, though everybody was tired, it was a good job done. Cheers!
Tampines West CC YEC BGM with friends from Alpha Plus

T’was a rainy afternoon and some 20 pairs of hands worked non stop for the event later in the evening, the BGM for TWCC YEC. Personally I didn’t contribute much. Notably, I made a pair of fuwa and some teeny weeny bits of decorations. The balloon backdrop was a combined effort of everybody. Was so much fun that night!
